Thank you to our partner organisations for supporting our work to achieve gender equality in science, technology, engineering and maths in the Plymouth travel-to-work area.
Together, we can make a difference.
The PMG is a network of local manufacturing companies in the Plymouth travel-to-work-area. Recognising that its predecessor body was proving unsustainable, we were instrumental in helping to set up WISP when it was first formed in 2014. Since then, we’ve been active members of a Committee that helps to steer the strategic direction of the group and organises events on the ground.
Plessey were involved with the original set up of the Plymouth Women in STEM group and have been regular supporters for the past 4 years. We are committed to recruiting a diverse workforce to ensure we are equipped with the right skills and knowledge to develop and manufacture hi-tech LED products within the UK which are then sold all over the world.
The Devon and Cornwall Area Branch of IMechE joined the WISP Committee as an advisory member in 2017. We exist to support the professional development of engineers and celebrate and promote engineering to everyone in the area. This is primarily achieved through CPD events, social events and STEM partnerships and events (all mostly free and open to all). We joined WISP in order to be able to share our events with their members and their events with ours. We hope that this will encourage women to be interested in engineering and engineers (of all genders) to help further gender equality in Devon and Cornwall and promote cross sector networking and knowledge sharing.
In addition to our Partners, we would also like to thank the following organisations, who provide WISP with support in various forms, including space, advice and friendship.
