Lorna will be talking at the Pioneering with Possibilities conference, organised by Grace Chatting (Western Women Mean Business, http://www.gracechatting.com/) and Christa Mckinnon (http://www.christamackinnon.com/) on Sunday 11th November 2018.
We are living in a time of unprecedented possibilities where women are wakening up, rising, and creating global movements of change. The challenge for each of us is to recognise our particular gifts and innate abilities so that we can contribute to and lead in the creation of this future world.
This is the first women’s conference in the Westcountry bringing together exciting topics and renowned female experts from the fields of business, health, science, arts and consciousness to explore how we can make these changes happen, individually and collectively.
Lorna will be giving a talk entited, “Why STEM should embrace its ‘fem’” and will talk about how – despite popular opinion to the contrary – many of the qualities we perceive as feminine are essential for careers in science, technology, engineering and maths. Lorna will argue that STEM should be more proud of its ‘girly’ side and that there are many benefits for individuals and society from more women being actively involved in STEM.
