After being postponed from February due to the snow, we finally got to hold out first Networking Event of the year at Dartington Hall on the 19th April 2018.
And what a glorious day it was too! The sun shined and our host, Karen Jonas, gave us a tour of the fabulous facilities, beautiful gardens and ‘very Hogwarts’ Great Hall.
Women in STEM from across the Plymouth and South Hams area – and those who support them – gathered to hear from Rob Wick and Marcus Shirley of GoodBotics about their hobby of crafting small, lightweight robots to detect landmines. And we learned that not all robots are coming to kill us all and/or steal our jobs!
With some delicious food and refreshments from Dartington, we all enjoyed plenty of time to chat about STEM and make new connections. The last stragglers didn’t leave til well-past 8pm!
